What is the maximum car age allowed for import into Nigeria?

As of 2026, Nigeria allows import of vehicles up to 8 years old. For example, in 2026 the oldest allowed model year is 2018. We only supply vehicles within the legal age limit for your destination.

How much is import duty on cars in Nigeria?

Import duty on passenger vehicles is typically 35% of the CIF value, plus a 7.5% VAT. We recommend consulting a licensed Nigerian customs agent for the exact calculation on your specific vehicle.

Which port does the car arrive at in Nigeria?

Vehicles are shipped to Apapa Port in Lagos, which is the main vehicle import terminal in Nigeria. Transit time from Nansha Port is approximately 25–35 days depending on the vessel schedule.

Can I mix different car models in one container?

Yes. We regularly do mixed containers for Nigerian dealers — for example, 2 sedans and 1 SUV in a 40ft container. Contact us for a container loading plan and cost breakdown.

Do you provide SONCAP or other Nigeria-specific documents?

We can assist with obtaining SONCAP certification and other required compliance documents for the Nigerian market. Please mention this requirement when placing your order so we can arrange it in advance.
